We have arrived safely!!! Our trip went pretty smooth without many cliches at the airport. Traveling with 19 definitely takes more time all around!! We arrived in Haiti just in time for the sun to come out and give everyone their first glimpse at the Haitian heat!!! We had a few minutes to wait for our ride at the airport and our "regular" helper immediately found us to help with our baggage. His name is Joseph. He is a deaf man that works for the airport helping with the luggage. We had a great opportunity to talk to him in sign language and learn some really cool signs from Haiti while we waited. Amazing how much sign someone can remember after so many years!! It was fun to be able to communicate with him.....He was really enjoying our conversations. Torie was able to learn a few words....and knock out her Sign language homework at the same time. We headed home to the orphanage on the new bus. We had 30 bags with us so we filled the bus pretty good! On arriving, the children were so excited and greeted us with great big hugs and kisses. Always fun to see them recognize returning team members!! Their excitement was priceless. We spent a few hours at the orphanage before heading to our new "Haitian Home" What a great place to stay....we will always stay here with Stephen and Autumn. It really gives you a more accurate picture of the Haitian life style!! We had one unexpected event happen today.....but all is good!! A few of us had the wonderful opportunity to visit a real haitian "emergency room"! While at the orphange today, one of the team members was playing basketball and fell on their wrist....No breaks!! So all is good. Better safe than sorry! But hey.....we had the chance to experience what the hospitals are really like here. Be thankful for what we have. I would say that I can without a doubt would never want to have surgery or a baby there like many of them were!! Well, better head to bed. Tomorrow has lots planned and we are excited to get started! Please pray for safety and for the hurt wrist. We miss and love all of you. We will try to post pics tomorrow night. Internet is not working the greatest and we have having a slight delay. Nou te sonje ou!!!
