We arrived safely!!! Our trip has been very easy so far traveling with 17 people!! We arrived in Port Au Prince at 9 :20 this morning.....The airport experience was a little overwelming for a few of our team....but we made it out like champions!! Our bus was waiting for us and all 27 bags that we brought with we securely tied to the top of the bus!
Our ride to Mo-We is about 1 hour 40 minutes on a good day.....today....maybe not so good! It took us a bit longer because "they are working on the roads" The weather however is fantastic....not to hot, not to humid. We stopped at the orphanage first. Most of the kids were still at school but the babies were all there ready to be held! With a team ouR size....eveyone could be held whenever they wanted. There were no complaints. Right away everyone was able to experience the love they have to give!
We had our first Haitian meal today at the orphanage. We had the chance to get aquainted and talk about our expectations and hopes for our trip. It will be fun to see what God has planned! After lunch we checked into the hotel we are staying at. First impressions.....Looks nice.....hmmmmmm......I think we will be wearing shoes in the showers though!! And only the lucky few get air conditioning! Oh but wait....its not that time of the day......electricity hasn't been turned on yet!
We had a wonderful time hanging out with all the kids and other Haitian friends today.....we are really tired, so we will tell you more tomorrow!
Words of the Day for everyone!
